wildcat lake Fishing Report

Second Go Around At Wildcat Lake

Loaded up at 10 and headed off to the lake. The plan was to try some clear water baits. I have been doing some reading and i was ready to step up my catching efforts. Round one was going to be the tube, and the keitech 4" swim-baits that worked so well the last time. Well the tube did alright and the baby swim-bait got nothing including a nibble. The conditions were very different from the last trip being a cold bluebird day, and the last was overcast and wet. I got three dink bass the largest a 3/4 my largest to date from that lake and the second biggest in WA so far. The larger two were taken on the tube. Running some BPS tender tubes in green pumpkin with purple flake. I also was surprised with a 14" rainbow trout on the same tube. I would have never guessed it in a million years. I grabbed another trout on the drop shot, my first on this technique. I think it may be the way forward. I ended the day running the drop-shot, and i picked up two fish one trout and a bass quickly and then it died out. I had only one worm to try so i will grab another to swap out for the next trip.
