Great Pond Description

Great Pond is a 268-acre water body located in Rockingham County in southeastern New Hampshire in the United States. The lake lies near the center of the town of Kingston. Kingston State Park, a small preserve with a swimming beach, occupies the northeastern end of the lake, near the town center. The lake is located along the Powwow River, a tributary of the Merrimack River. Kingston Lake is a great fishing lake for all skill levels. Whether you want to fish with worms and a bobber or search for the elusive largemouth bass or the scarce Smallmouth Bass you are bound to find success. Kingston Lake is a warm water lake with fairly low levels of oxygen so trout are not present. Enjoy your day of fishing and please practice Catch and Release so that we can enjoy bigger fish every year! Buoys are placed to keep you out of shallow areas and to protect swimming areas at the State Beach. No wake zones mark the small bay by the public boat launch and the west side of Clarks Island.
