Country Pond Description

Country Pond, along with neighboring Powwow Pond, Kingston Lake, and Greenwood Lake, is one of the better known, productive Bass waters in southern NH. Even though the area is fairly well developed, this pond is not overfished. It is accessible from Rt. 125, a major highway in southeastern NH. The shoreline is about 60% wooded and 40% swamp. The bottom is about 50% muck. Ice-out can be expected around April 10th. The best fishing here takes place from mid-May through June and again in September. Powwow River at the outlet has excellent Bass and Pickerel fishing. The pond has 3 unimproved trailor launching sites.

Country Pond is a 255-acre (1.0 km2) water body located in Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Kingston and Newton. Water from Country Pond flows via the Powwow River to the Merrimack River in Amesbury, Massachusetts.
