  • I have been here only onece, and the smallmouth bite was decent. The biggest fish of the day gave me a head shake and swam away. I did not get a good look at it but most likely was a 1-2 lb smallmouth, condiering that all i caught this day. Biggest one i landed was right around a pound. The one i lost came out of the pool below the dam where the water is moving slower. There also looks to be an easy way to port around the dam on the same side if your planning a cannoe trip.

8th Street Public Access Fishing Area Description

This location is a public access area. Go across the bridge and it will be an imediate left when heading out of town. Good shore access, and most of the river on the side where the parking is shallow enough to wade most of it. I was waste deep most of the river to the mid point. The water is stained so brighter lures will work the best.
